Betaxolol (eye drops)

Betaxolol is an eye medication used to reduce pressure in the eye (glaucoma).

Betaxolol reduces pressure in the eye by reducing the production of excess fluid in the eye.

You may experience:

  • Redness and itching of eye

  • Pain in eye

You may eat normally while taking betaxolol.

If you forget to take your prescription, take it as soon as you remember.

If you miss a dose, don’t take a double dose.

If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and take the next one.

Betaxolol can cause blurred vision shortly after use. If you experience this effect it is advisable to wait for it to pass before you drive or operate machinery.

Betaxolol isn’t addictive.

Betaxolol has not been shown to affect sexual performance, fertility or contraceptives.

You should inform your doctor before using betaxolol when pregnant or breastfeeding.
